The rremaining route branding on the Carlisle Darts is now in the process of being removed. Only the "Heart" will stay applied...

Oh dear that 'heart' branding on the darts in carlisle

It must be the most stupid looking branding on any buses in UK

Unless anyone knows worse?

Be useful to have Stagecoach Lancaster/Cumbria on Twitter. It's has been handy in keeping up to date with the likes of Trans-Pennine/Virgin and general travel news, should be great for up to the minute bus info. I see there are "Pilot" S/C Twitter Accounts springing up in other areas. Doesn't have to be overseen by one person specifically either.

Mind you. GPS Positional transmitters on the buses would be even better! Even India's Trains have those now! :D

The buses do have GPS in the way with EcoDriver that shows you Where they are, How Fast but can only be viewed by Manegement.

Aww! Shame! Hope it will be turned into/connected to a phone app or similar sometime. It's where the future lies! :)

In my old home town in Kent I remember when Maidstone & District worked with the Council to bring us the technofabulous "Live Info" shiny new bus stops in the mid-late 90's. with the mini displays on. I can't think of a single time when they were accurate! We've come a long way.

Stagecoach tried it in Barrow whe we got the S19x RAO Merc 814s on service 1/1A in 1999 but didnt catch on and buses strayed off on other routes then replaced by solo's in 2004.

Perhaps a Stagecoach North West Facebook page aswell?
In the North East both Go North East and Arriva have facebook and twitter pages which are obviously handy for service updates and also if passengers wish to ask a question before travelling such as 'how much is a single from A to B?' and they have someone workington on it like 7am until 6pm weekdays, but there isn't really something like that for Cumbria/Lancashire.

Was the B10 today. Doesn't sound as good as Stagecoach ones for some reason. Even 20960 sounds better.

I think Reays used it on the Kendal College 106A a few times in about november time, I think they even used one of the olympians at one point too.

B6 was a regular for a while.

34687 on 685 today with 52629 on 554 again.

First of 3 Reays Optare Solos made it's first appearance in Carlisle today on the 63A. Not sure if the other 2 are ready for service yet.

I was in Lancaster this morning after doing my regular Sunday check of vehicles at Heysham Docks.

I found Barrow based Scania 15821 at Scania dealers on Caton Road, Lancaster – http://maljoe.piwigo.com/picture?/10637/category

Also, Optare Versa 25222 on 1015 42 service to Blackpool. Is this an unusual working? I have seen this journey most Sundays for about 3 months and it is usually a MAN - http://maljoe.piwigo.com/picture?/10636/category

Anything can appear on the 42 on a sunday as it is only a 2 hourly service, they had 17020 on it a couple of weeks ago and sometimes it depends on the drivers choice of bus.

Blackpool on Sunday is allocated to Minibus if we short of buses its normally a MAN but that can depend on driver too.

Why does 22754 have a different emergency door from the rest of the batch? It seems to have one with a curve to the bottom of the window (like the window to the rear of it) whereas all the others i saw today have a straight bottom.

Bit of a bump to an old post (and I've just noticed I put 22754 not 27754) but i've just spotted 27751 with a mis-matched door like that- is it the same door, just moved around?
"Oi, you're working this Sunday"
"What, me? Get lost"
"You can have a different shaped rear exit?"
"Right-oh chief, you're on!"

52629 popped up on the 38 this morning.

52629 reinstated now that 20456 has been withdrawn instead.

She was on the 94 all day which also does some trips on the 38.

Just to note that 20944 and 20960 are still very much in service at Carlisle despite being "Off Fleet". Although 20960 is withdrawn every other week but comes back out when things go down the pan.

20219 is also still clinging on, just.
