Has two buckets full of water and a hand pump but alas there are not enough buckets. Fractured pipe new one being sourced but too late.

A minor set back. Just glad it wasn't a repeat of 50031's unfortunate expiry.

Still, over a year with no failures, 50049 is something to be proud of..
I for one see it making a sharp return.

Looking at the timings the swap from Steam - Diesel takes place at Foxhall Junction (West of Didcot) So could they not send it L/E to there from Tyseley?

The 37s were a different story (Tom was there for that) up the bank roaring away quick toot and away off under the bridge, hellfire

How many 37s were built again? Was it more than 50? Yet so many preserved in ratio to 37s? Must be because they are so popular. Speaking as someone who had the misfortune of working on 37s and the good luck to work on 50s, I have to say there really is no competition. 37s are rubbish. All noise and no go. Draughty, slow and smelly. DRS have only got them because spares are so numerous and in many cases the same as 31s etc etc. Looks like 66s will eventually replace them though so its not all bad news.

It's called having an opinion, and he seems to be talking from experience. As for thrash, I'm sure it's nice to work in a quieter environment all day every day than a loud one. I believe noise is part of ASLEF's 'squash' campaign on other stock?
