1828 FCC train from Cambridge today

I travelled on the above service today from Cambridge to Kings Cross, but I couldn't see it on any live departure board or on realtimetrains. Interestingly, near Stevenage we went backward for a bit. Does anyone know what happened with it?

Weird - the train doesn't show up!

And at New Barnet (not quite near Stevenage) the train reversed from the up lines (going into London) to the down lines (going out of London) so they could do work further down the line, I presume at Alexandra Palace. The train had to reverse for a short while because of the way the connections were facing

Thanks for that-I have never been on a train that reversed before!
When you say it doesn't show up, is that on public info or somewhere else? It sounds like you cold see some record of the train in question, and I wondered what it's booked arrival into KGX was because I might be due some delay repay!

It looks as if it was 1T75 which was booked 1844 off of Cambridge however actually left 15 early at 1829. By Finsbury Park it was 19 minutes late, however arrived Kings Cross 17 late at 1955. More interesting, it left it's origin, Ely, 28 minutes early.

You could argue for delay repay as your day has been affected by 32 mins because the train left 15 early and arrived 17 late, but I wish you luck with that!

There is no 1828 from Cambridge, what train are you referencing please?

The page you reference comes back as this : "Table 3: London to Welwyn Garden City, Hertford North and Letchworth Garden City" for Christmas eve - this is no relevance to the OP's journey. However I will give it to you that page 14 of that document shows an 1828 departure from Cambridge.

I am of firm belief that the OP's train was 1T75 as I referenced in my earlier post.

It may be that headcode but it is 1828 as timetabled

If you think that's weird, the last advertised train on Sunday 30th Dec via Hertford Loop was 00:06 which arrives at Hertford about 00:48 despite the 01:06 via Hertford Loop which arrives at Hertford about a hour later at 01:38 actually ran despite never being advertised.

Indeed for the first time in 6 years, it was empty!!!

For me, no trains at all showed up at either HAT or PBR on my new years eve journeys, they all just said "Please refer to Announcement" [sic] as they normally do when they can't get data (or the older ones show a link to www.wagn.co.uk!) so even if they were advertised people wouldn't see them on the platforms

Due to engineering works your train shunted at New Barnet from the up slow to the down fast, you then travelled wrong direction under single line working from New Barnet to finsbury park where you travelled back onto the up fast
It could well have been a reinstated service, I know there was the odd sickness yesterday and spare men from other depots were used to cover so this may explain why it wasn't on the screen as it could have been a reinstated service.

It was on the screens at Cambridge which is how I knew to catch it, but when I tried to find it on National Rail and realtimetrains it didn't show up. It wasn't the 1844 because that was the one I had been going to catch, and that should have run direct to Kings X but my one called at a few stops.
