Today's long distance trains seem to be made up of EMU sets or DMU sets. Are there any actual locomotives still in daily passenger service, or are they used only for freight and charters?
Which locomotives are routinely used to drag failed passenger sets?

East Coast, Greater Anglia, Arriva Trains Wales, Chiltern and Scotrail all have regular, daily services hauled by locos.

Class43 - HST Power Cars, Class 90 - Liverpool Street to Norwich, Class 91 East Coast electric sets. And that's just for starters!
