I think this qualifies as a special working. Has anyone else noticed that Southern have quietly introduced a once a day sleeper service between London Victoria and Brighton departing at 0606 and arriving at 0705? It appears to convey both first and standard class sleeper accommodation. You can see it in the attached screen shot. You would have thought something like this would have generated more publicity! Perhaps johnnycache can give us more details ;)

A sleeper service that departs at 06.00 & lasts for no more than an hour??

Not much chance of sleeping on that sleeper.

I dunno, to catch it you will have to get up around 5am, maybe commuters could benefit from a quick hours sleep :D

Hmmm, lets face it students are notorious for getting up late! It's not uncommon for people to get up at 05.00 on a weekday and you don't necessarily need a bed to have a snooze!

Let me guess, it then runs back to terminate finally at Bedford

S Yorks, usually
But there's a blanket ban on photography, so I'll never see what stock is used, unless I'm either in the area or can bunk off work for a couple of days.

The service actually exists too, its not a completely erroneous entry, it arrived 3 down at Brighton this morning!

Indeed I noticed that as well! I assume someone has ticked the wrong box or entered the wrong code when inputting the service into the timetable. Interestingly NRE also have it down as a sleeper service but the eNRT does not.

It's formed of a pair of 442s each day: Perhaps this is the answer to keep the 442s in service long term, convert or swap the non-powered vehicles into sleepers!

I note that this is not the only day-time train service that has recently been (erroneously) denoted as offering first and standard class berths: Arriva Trains Wales' additional Crewe to Holyhead trains that are to run on the 22nd and the 29th of this month are also shown, on both Open Train Times and on the trainline, as having sleeping accommodation available!
