Not got times (or tickets) yet for that tour, but I should be getting them in the post soon, what with being on it through from Birmingham to the end and back as far as Newport.

Will try and post the times you require for that tour when they come.

Since when do Pathfinders post the times that are NOT on their site already? Because, with the Buffer Puffer 4.1 tickets, all I got was the times situated on the website already.

*Ahem* After venturing down to Banbury arriving at 20:33 I waited for the tour to come in at 20:43. I waited and I still waited. It came to 21:00 so I went to ask the guards where were these tours! He replied to me
"Ohhh the 37's they were 20 mins early you've missed them" came from his small mouth! To my disbelief I was furious! And had to leave the station A.S.A.P!

So can someone tell me why I wasn't informed on this by Station Guards and why the tour was 20 mins early! It was booked to stop at 20:43 Not whenever it liked!

Well at least I left the old men on the bridge with sad faces!

Why should the station staff tell you what time a tour is running. Banbury was only a set down point so if its early it wouldnt have affected the passengers. The moral of the story is give yourself plenty of time for seeing tours

I don't think I have ever seen such an arrogant post! It is not their job to tell you if a tour has gone!

Why were there guards on the station anyway? They should be on the trains

Its totally optional whether station staff wish to give you an update. When I was last at Banbury they did, but they are not compelled do so and I should say you were quite lucky you got told at all.

It was about 20 minutes late when I saw it at Patchway, but I didn't jump off the bridge, wave my arms in a rude fashion and shout YOU WERE BOOKED THROUGH 20 MINUTES AGO, WHY DID THE NON EXISTANT STAFF NOT TELL ME.

Well, you have a right to be a bit angry at yourself for not arriving in good time, but perhaps you shouldn't be furious at yourself. Just a bit angry will suffice.

Did you ask to be informed? What is a station guard? As for the booked stop, was that a pick-up time? I suspect not. Set-down only means that departure can be at any time, which certainly does mean whenever it likes (signallers permitting, of course!)

BTW, I trust you thanked the staff for telling you it was early?

1 down off Newport on the way back, which wasn't bad. Nice to know it picked up plenty of time on the way back.

Were you out at Banbury in the morning for it?

This was a cracking tour, thrashtastic 37s and 60, loads of new track, couldn't ask for more! Best tour I've ever done.

No I wasn't at Banbury in the morning as I was still in bed!

I was there 20 mins before it should of got there! But I did catch a voyager Idoling and a few more 168 cab photos for a project!
Did you ask to be informed?
I had to ask someone in a Chiltern suit to tell me where it was!
What is a station guard?
Someone who departs the train with there whistle and black + white stick thing.
As for the booked stop, was that a pick-up time?
I suspect not. Set-down only means that departure can be at any time, which certainly does mean whenever it likes (signallers permitting, of course!)

Well they could at least say this before hand!)

Well if you were there 20 mins before it was booked, and it was 20 mins early, surely you should've seen it/heard it!

But it was advertised as set-down only, so they did!

By their very nature, most calls at stations by most railtours are advertised as either set-down only or pick-up only.
