Milton Keynes central is now starting it's refurbishment, and getting it's new platform. all this work should be finished around 2009/2010. if anyone else knows that it'll finish round a different time, please let me know. cheers

I believe the extra platform is been built to allow the extension of Bedford to Bletchley 150s to MK central which will be great for the Marston vale line.

I also saw on the Network rail investment story about the redevelopment of Luton station does anybody know when work is scheduled to start ? I spent 3 years commuting to it and would have to say it is one of the most depressing large stations in the U.K the sooner it is re-built the better.

mk should be finished late 2008 as said a new bay for the mv line and also a new platform behind platform 5, this is where virgin will stop, plat 5 will still be there but as a thrioough line, stopping the bottleneck, if a virmin stops the rest que behind, so having the extra plat6 will help. after mk is finished the next phase is th re moddeling of bletchley, which includes putting a platform on the fly over!!!!!!!!!, then when that is complete the decomissioning of bletchley and watford junction psb's, with control going over to rugby scc

Will Bletchley Depot be going after all the works be finished, in line with the Timeline? Or have they not decided on what's happening yet?

Latest quote is for BY (top shed) to close with this years franchise change, although of course the closure date has been put back again and again before so liable to change again...

The last i heard it was to close this year. Probably subject to the wishes of the new franchisee....
Was to close last year, now this year, wouldn't surprise me to see it stay open, id like to see it.
313 work will obviously be lost soonish as they are being replaced, WN is to close also at some stage, don't know who knows where the 150s will end up. (if they are not replaced on Bed-Bley duties.)

There has been talk of GBRf taking on BY when WN shuts, but lots of conjector for such a small, if top, depot!
