Do Kids travel free on Underground?

Myself and my wife are going on a day trip to London later today and just wanted to know do kids still travel free on the Underground as long as they are with a adult?

our kids are 12 and 13.

It appears that they won't be eligible for free travel, but they will get discounted fares.

Rules are rules I'm afraid, I'm 16 and I couldn't get away with buying child tickets because I've "just turned 16".

Depends how much you want to go to court!

(the answer is yes. If caught I doubt they will treat it leniently)

A child Z1-6 off-peak travelcard is £3.20, which while isn't free is still excellent value for money and valid on the vast majority of NR services within Greater London in addition to all TfL services (except the cable car and journeys on tube/London Overground in zones 7-9/W).

You may already have left for your day out but this info. may help others for a future trip. I am sure that a Friends & Family Railcard would offer a discount on a zone 1 -6 travelcard. Others may be along later to confirm this. There are also 2 for 1 offers in London if you travel in by train.

The use of Myself when either Me or I would be more appropriate is on the increase. Especially prevalent in announcements by traincrew .

It can help to deconstruct the sentence i.e. in the above examples remove the wife (I know that to some forum members this may be a blessing - but this is not a service that I am offering ) and you are left with:-

Myself is going to London........

and,

I am going to London.......
