So it appears we will have to accept that there will never be a station at Low Moor.
Might that depend on who writes the detail of the requirements for the next Northern franchise?

I travelled through the area this weekend.
From a map study the radius of the 'gentle curve' at the intended site is estimated at around 800m. There is a good area of land available and proposals include for a car park of around 117 spaces etc..
I have tried to find this location and assume that this would be the site of the former Wyke and Norwood Green station near to the south west entrance of Wyke Tunnel? The track is straight there but space is quite tight and, apart from being considerably further away from the main community, I don't think that suitable land for the car park, access and drop off points would be easily available.
If I have got the site location wrong, please correct me!
The original 'statements' are not implying quite that. Just that the cost will be higher than originally estimated (for which money has already been set aside) and that the extra cost may be more difficult to justify in terms of an economic project.
I totally reject that 'stations cannot be built on curves'. If that assertion were true then London Euston would never be rebuilt to accomodate HS2.
