I've tried three times and I haven't completed it in any of them. The second time I'm sure I was on time, yet I failed. I did some Googleing and found I wasn't the only one with this problem and the suggestion was to drive slightly above the speed limit, but not so much that you got penalised for it. This I just did, and I arrived at Darlington in plenty of time (I was early) and yet I still failed!

I've had one go at it, but didn't complete it. I remember what you have to do but whether completion involves avoiding the emergency brake pulling then it may have to do with an uneasy ride.

I have completed it, about 2/3 of the way through involves an emergency brake application while a policeman deals with some dastardly york fans

Never had an Emergency Brakeing or copper sorting out fans, did'nt know there was anything of the sort.

Are you sure you're thinking of the same scenario? It mentions something about rowdy fans....or something of that sort at the beginning, and I'm not sure how a driver can avoid a passenger pulling the communication cord, so it must be an integral part of the scenario.

Done it! With a bit of speeding (interesting that you don't get penalised for it). The emergency stop happened as normal.

Speeding in terms of line speed or in terms of the top speed of the locomotive? Because the game only normally picks up linespeed violations so if it was ignoring you going above linespeed then that is interesting.

Line speed. It's something I read somewhere - the game still lets you complete scenarios even though you've been speeding.

I think you can get away with not applying the emergency brake, but there was certainly a msg popup in my game that said BTP were dealing with an incident...

As for the issue with speed, i think it depends on how you set the options up, i think there is an option to tick that says apply emergency brake if over the speed limit, there is also an option I think that gets an instant game over for a SPAD

what is this game? Where can i get it? I guess this is some kind of add on to an existing game.

Railworks 3 Train Simulator 2012/2013 is the game, and can be easily bought off the internet.

If this was a career scenario then you would be penalised, but normally any scenario allows speeding without it risking a scenario failure. Probably the reason why the HST super express speed trial scenario on the ECML is not a career scenario.

It's not you that applies the EB, it's one of the passengers (I'm not sure how this can possibly be avoided by the driver?) - this is the incident the police deal with.

Train Simulator 2013.

When I did this, the message popped up about the Old Bill having to deal with something, about 10 secs passed and I hit anchors, although it may have been done during a lapse of concentration and I did not notice, will have to play it again and keep a look out for it.

EDIT: I done this again and this time noticed the EB was pulled for me, I need to concentrate more in future

I had real trouble with the HST Speed Trial, tried it 5 times, derailed 3 times and was not going fast enough on another occasion, when i finally completed it I averaged about 120 Northbound and 112 Southbound
