Might be a bit difficult as the Chilterns are non stop to / from Amersham.

Nevermind. It's not like I'm going to run out of things to see is it! I could spend all day on an S stock train! They have the best "doors open" tones I've ever heard.


Does anyone know if it's possible to buy railcard discounted travelcards on the Southern website? I was just going to get it from the LU ticket office, but I notice they're offering 6% cashback!

No, Watford is not in Zones 1-9. It's in its own special zone. It used to be in Zone D, equivalent to 9 now but is no longer.

What about the TfL dongleway?

And the TfL Thames Clipper. You could do a nice loop: London Eye to the O2 by boat, dongleway return journey at the O2, then Jubilee Line (with PEDs) from North Greenwich back into town (or you could do some DLRing while you're on that side of the city).

In terms of buses (if you're interested): try the NBfL on route 38, and the old RM on Heritage Route 9 or 15. Plus one of the hydrogen buses.

Assuming you mean the Cablecar by "dongleway" the OP may want to note that neither that nor the Thames Clipper (Not the TfL Thames Clipper) - is covered by your Travelcard though it will give you a discount.

and if it's a bit breezy (like this evening) the cable car shuts; whilst fog can cause havoc on the Clippers.

No they do not. Non stop at normal hours/all weekends is Harrow to Rickmansworth then all stations to Aylesbury so he would have to change at Rickmansworth not Moor Park where Chiltern do not stop

Thanks But the Metropolitan Line is out of action Wembley Park <> Northwood. It just gets worse!

Either way, though, the first Chiltern stop ( other than Harrow ) is outside the Zone 6 boundary, so...
