on the mobile trainline app it shows i can return on the trains before 10 with no railcard selected. i would book one but i can not see the option for seat reservation. don't fancy explaining this to a guard. they must be playing around with the it in the background. i was hoping the rules might of being relaxed to help the passenger but that never happens in the real world.
No mystery. The conditions of a Flint to London Terminals Off-Peak Return (and also a London Terminals to Flint Off-Peak Return) are that you may travel southbound on a train timed to
arrive at London Euston before 0430 or at or after 1000. Northbound you may travel on a train timed to
depart before 0430 or at or after 0905, but not on the 1610 service. There is no break of journey permitted on the outbound portion.
This has been the rule for quite some time, so there has been no relaxation and no playing around in the background
I wouldn't be bothering with thetrainline, not least because it is almost always more expensive than booking directly with the train company you're using.
