Nottingham to Horsforth (W. Yorkshire)

I need to make an early morning trip, returning on the same day. The cheapest fare with a railcard is coming out at £24, splitting the ticket at Sheffield. Is there a cheaper way that I am missing?

I used to make this trip via Grantham, but no cheap East Coast fares to be had, unfortunately

To add more details, it is on 25/10/12, traveling at around 6.30 a.m. and I have a 16-25 railcard.
