Farewell to A Stock Tube trains

After more than 50 years in service on the Metropolitan line, the A stock trains are being retired on Saturday.
To mark the occasion the London Transport Museum will be selling a selection of A stock memorabilia, including original A stock luggage racks, at Amersham station betweeen midday and 3pm.

I am surpirsed the breakers don't take out both the 'handles' and flog them seperately. Sure they would fetch more sold to collectors than as scrap.

There is that too. As for anything like door running boards, apprently those are a sod to remove too - hence why you don't see any of those saved.
