Do people think we can see a future when station adoption scheme members use signalboxes near to the relevant stations as storerooms and staff facilities? I think there are a few cases where this is already done, but I can't remember where! I feel that volunteers who prove themselves capable of helping to maintain a station to a good standard should be allowed to do this if they have the time, requirements and inclination to do so.
Sorry can,t see that happening at all, Network Rail don,t want people trackside at all, even there own staff unless they have to be there.
Station adoption scheme members won,t be PTS trained and the TOC won,t want the additional cost of maintaining another building etc.
Think it will be a classic case of it was there on Saturday and Monday morning its gone and just a patch of ground where it used to be.
I might be wrong, but they just want rid of the old and the staff from B.R days if they could in the same way.
