Twas the night before school started when all through the town, teachers were groaning, it was a disturbing sound.
By 10 they were washed and tucked up in bed, where memories of children filled them with dread.
New pencils, new folders, new registers too. New classes, new grey hairs, their anxieties grew.
The parents just giggled when they learned of this fright, you've had 6 weeks off, they're all yours. Goodnight!

Ugh. School tomorrow. The thought of having to get up in 6 hours time. Yay.

And I'll be falling asleep in science first thing anyway, so going to bed now Wont make a difference. Sigh

I ain't going to sleep regardless of whether I turn out the light now or at 0430. A2 begins tomorrow. Still, only 7 and a half months...

Similar to my reasoning. I'm not going to be asleep much before two even if I'd turned the light of at 11 to why not enjoy it I guess instead of laying there and enjoying the view of the ceiling :| At least that's what I keep telling myself...

Just realised that I don't know where my timetable is so I have no idea what science I have tomorrow. Good start

I've got a free tomorrow from about 10 'til 1, more than enough time to return home and sleep :D I'm fine as usually a late night catches up with me about 4pm, by which time I'm usually home for the day.

My late nights catch up with me first thing and then I'm fine until just before lunch. Then Im pretty much okay till I get home and then all of my tiredness just disappears :|

Meh, at least you'll get in the building tomorrow: I've just realised I've misplaced my lanyard with bus pass and college ID attached (required for entry)

EDIT - Found! Well, I'm all set for college, I'd best try and sleep...

yes can't wait to pack my eldest two off to school tomorrow.
Don't get me wrong I love them to death but after 6 weeks of them trying to kill each other at home I think I'll let their teachers referee for a while.

School tomorrow; just how I will be annoyed when the weather goes hot in September, and were cooped up in classrooms (as it seems to have done for the past few years). :-x

And I've still got another 20 days before the start of Uni!

Got up early to drive my significant other to the railway station and the car was covered in that water, the streets were foggy and I had to turn the heating on. Yep, autumn's here

I've had enough of the school run, parents kicking off because it's not possible to get a pass on the morning their kid starts and they haven't done any research into school transport during the 6 week school holiday! Most don't know what time their kid has to be at school and others don't even know what school they are sending their brats to.

my A2s start tomorrow, all my friends are off to university, and I'm stuck in school because I failed my AS exams and had to retake. oh well, at least I have something to do with my time, if I passed first time I would most likely be on the dole.

Ah, I've had the heating on and had to clear the windows of dew for the last few mornings :(

At least it isn't frost though :)

Confused by all this mention of fog, turning the heating on and autumn's arrival... here in Kent we've had nothing of the sort. Hot, sunny, warm enough to sunbathe on the beach yesterday and go for a swim.

School can be viewed as a method of necessary incarceration from the age of 5 upwards for a goodly part of the day and as regards some of those you refer to in your quote above, a good training in incarceration to show what they can expect when they later graduate to HM Young Offender Institutions.
