It's a standard railway medical. Mine was performed by bupa. Drink, drugs, blood pressure, heart rate, hearing. You'll need to provide urine and breath samples.
If you have no conditions then you'll have no worries.

Its taken me 8 months to get this stage -- keep expecting something to go wrong...!
From what i have read its pretty straight forward stuff. I was reading in another forum to stay away from coffee before you go it as it can increase the blood pressure and make you heat beat irregular..!

When you do the ECG get them to shave the areas that the stickies go on and when you're lying on the bed don't move a muscle or it can give out a dodgy reading on the graph as i found out

Electrocardiography. Basically they wire you up to a machine and check your heart. Nowt to worry about. Ever seen casualty or holby (yes I know it's sad) and seen someone wired into a machine that gives of a reading like something you think you would see on a seismograph? Wiggly lines erratically up and down. You look at it and think "D'oh!" your doc looks at it and says "that's fine" or "you gonna die, son!" - hope its the 1st lol. Only kidding, just standard, couple of wires chest, couple on the legs and hope you have a pretty nurse not a moose

Well -- just went through the medical today, passed everything so now just waiting for that all important letter.....
Good luck to everyone else at this stage. It was no big deal in the end, the worst bit being trying to get those stick pads off my hairy legs!

You'll probably get a phone call about it from recruitment on thursday or friday, if you end up on the same course as me you'll be starting in 3 weeks time.
