Distances on the French railways

I was just wondering is there a way of calculating the distances on the railways in France. I tried searching through old threads here, but the only one I can find doesn't seem to work

I'm making a trip from St Pancras - Paris Nord, then from Paris Montparnasse - Bordeaux St Jean, and then Bordeaux - Sarlat-la-Caneda, if it helps :P

Try looking at the French Wikipedia. Many articles about a rail route have a diagram of the route with distances along the way.

Paris Montparnasse - Bordeaux St Jean: ~584km
Bordeaux - Sarlat-la-Canéda: ~235km by rail and ~30km by road (bus from Souillac SNCF to S-l-C)

Ahhh thank you so much! Just to confuse matters, due to electrical problems we were diverted onto the Paris - Lille Classic lines, then I changed at Libourne instead of Bordeaux, but I'm sure I'll be able to work it out, thanks!

Just out of interest what kind of state was the track in given that it is no longer the main route between Lille and the capital?

Sorry - I took so long to get back to you that someone beat me to it. If it helps - here are the line breakdowns from Paris to London:

Gare du Nord - Bifurcation de Gonesse: 15.8km (start of LGV Nord)
Bifurcation de Gonesse - Triangle de Fretin: 200.4km (where ligne to Brussels splits)
Triangle de Fretin - Eurotunnel entrance: 115.9km
Eurotunnel: 50.5km
Eurotunnel exit - St Pancras Int: 111.6km
TOTAL: 494.2km

Haven't had time to look at the Montparnasse - Bordeaux yet if you still want them.

if I could have from Montparnasse to Libourne, and then Libourne to Sarlat, it'd be very useful, but there's no rush!

And the classic lines were pretty nice, at some times I thought we were actually on the LGV Nord, until I remembered what they had said, so yeah, still very nice!

You can work out the mileage of most routes on there.

Depends how accurate you want to be as timetable distances are nearly always quoted in whole kms and can be quite inaccurate at times.

Sarlat is only 168km from Bordeaux according to Thos Cook and no bus needed (less 37km starting from Libourne).
Were you measuring from somewhere north/east of Souillac?

Paris M-Libourne 533km.
