Great Yarmouth Drag Failure

I was on the 1047 Colchester-Great Yarmouth Summer Saturday drag yesterday (25th August) with 90015 and 47828. Was a very nice day out but when the set got back to Norwich from GYM to work the 1400 service to London it was declared a failure, and everyone had to swap sets to the one that had arrived at 1350 to get to London. The set couldn't be moved for some reason and so it pinned 47828 to the buffers, meaning that the 1450 NRW-GYM drag was cancelled. The 1436 and 1518 NRW-GYM trains both ran with 156+153 to relieve the problem. Any idea what happened to 90015 at NRW? The driver raised and lowered the pantograph several times but then it was declared a failure and a "Not to be moved" sign was put on it. It later limped back to crown point with the 47 still on the back. Any idea what happened to it?

I'm interested Adam!! Thanks - The outward drag (1000 ex LST) was all I managed yesterday as the wife dragged me off round Yarmouth! Excellent to hear I only missed out on one trip Makes the ice cream all the tastier now

1V43 was 4 mins late start after 90015 failed with a general fault light lit, but no line light. Stock swapped. 153322 used vice hauled stock on 1V28, since the class 47 was trapped.

That was the original plan, but the 1450 to GYM didn't actually run, and the 1518 ran with 156407+153322.

WOW! That is an ice cream and a half! Well done to get on the one that ran, I was chatting to a guy at Norwich who had come up from Southminster to photograph the drag that didn't run, poor fella.

Had I not decided to go to the EOR with friends on Thursday evening, I would have been using the last few days of my 7 day anglia plus Norfolk season (which has mainly been used for Shezza commutes) to do some 47 bashing... I would have been caught up in the mess. How many more weeks have we got of them before they disappear again? Rumours are that GA don't want them next year.

Due to engineering works on the line to London, last day this year will be 8th September.
