Hi all,

First post! For a project I'm trying to find photos of the last ever British Rail passenger service but am unable to find one. Does anyone know when / where this service departed and arrived from and if they have any pictures? I assume for rail enthusiasts it was a big moment that must have been worthy of photography!

Best,

Jack

Scotrail for sure .......

The last North London Railways one was the 0200 to Euston to Milton Keynes and the first NX one back was the 0331 with the same set (321) - March 1997.I was Operations Manager but did not forsake my warm bed

Last BR freight was a Dollands Moor RFD train , a bit later on.

I travelled on the Glasgow to Euston sleeper on the final night which was a Sunday in 1997. I didn't realise the significance until I got to Glasgow Central. All sleeper passengers were presented with a commemorative miniature of whisky. I still have the bottle ! I can't recall the precise date, it is shown on the bottle, and if no-one else posts the date I'll dig it out when I get home.

I have one of these as well (5cl Teachers!) and the letter that came with it from John Ellis, Managing Director Scotrail.

My trip was Aviemore -Euston, and the date was Monday 31st March 1997
