Whilst browsing fotopic, I came across http://stagecoachnw.fotopic.net/ . This was of interest to me, living in the NW and getting a Stagecoach bus every day. I then found this picture:

Thats me on the top deck at the front.

It is interesting that the photo was taken at 16:36. This means that the bus, which usually arrives in Lancaster at 16:30 (should be 16:20) was on time/early! A very rare occurence!

Excellent third hand museum piece. I find it appalling buses like that are still running on our roads in passenger service...

That bus looks quite new compared to the stuff we have around here,mind You with the quality routes that some of the local ones do to town it probably wouldnt make sense to have a nice bus for the chavs to trash.

I know squat about buses but I did notice the local country service is run by buses on "S" & "W" reg marks,not the latest time around either so early 80's.

I always find myself looking for pictures from when I've been driving.I'm sure its the same your end where by on average I get at least 2-3 people taking pics whilst I'm at work.Especially at Man Picc where You get close up shots,mind You some of those could be "interesting" whilst I'm stretching my neck to find where those TPWS overspeed sensors are whilst coming into the dead end platforms.

LOL & I'm happy enough here in Coven,got nothing here but at least it's in a different county to wolves!

stretching my neck to find where those TPWS overspeed sensors are whilst coming into the dead end platforms.

TPW bloody S. They've ruined 'Professional' driving (and dynamic brakes). You used to be able to time your braking lovely before TPWS and make it nice and smooth.

If the serial number is 16xxx then its a Volvo Olympian and they are absolutely beautiful to drive, whereas if its a 14xxx then its a Leyland Olympian and them buses are, quite frankly shagged!!
They stink, they leak where they shouldnt leak, theres no power to them especially uphill and nothing works on them.
Our newest Leyland bus is on an H plate, with several on an F plate and the oldest (and most difficult to drive) is on an A platehock:

Not as bad as the one running in Lancaster 'A' reg. According to 1 of my mates, his bus last year had a record of breaking down every other day.

My bus has only broken down 3 times in 3 years, using the buses pictured ( N330 NPN to N340 NPN and N355 MPN)

I had my photo taken the other week driving a bus, sadly attempts at trying to see if its been published on the web have proved unsuccesful, 'cause I cant remember what I was driving
