Quite funny when you think Virgin Media has very little to do with Branson, yet people associate the brand so much with him (more so than is the case with any other brand that is associated with an idividual), that he's going to take a lot of flack over it. The BBC report even has a picture of Branson. It's a sad example of two massive companies battling it out, and it's the customer who looses. Then again, I've been considering moving to Sky for some time, and the only thing that's stopped me has been the fact that we've complained so much over the years that we now don't pay anything like what we should for the service we're getting (we have disounts on the phone, and on the TV, the only thing that's full price is the cable modem), but this might change my mind. Then again, if people move to sky, then they win, and it seems they are both as bad as each other.

Sky are clearly the aggressors, and I am glad their pockets are not being lined any further.

Murdoch can stuff his channels, it doesn't bother me anyway. Sky News isn't a patch on BBC News 24.

So, I am not bothered. All it's done is make me more anti-Sky. No way am I switching to them, then the bully would win!

I have to admit I am annoyed with the loss of these channels but at the end of the day if Sky want to lose millions of viewers on Virgin Media (and Freeview if they get their way) then that's their choice. I believe it's only now that Virgin have taken over from NTL:Telewest that they have realised they now have a serious competiter in the form of cable, where as before it wasn't such a threat I guess?

Freeview may be loosing their Sky channels soon, anyway...

NTL:Telewest aren't that serious competitor as Freeview, which is a free service sponsored by Sky anyway!

Forgot to mention before, with freeview, you can get Sky News and Sky Sports News. Completely free (minus the cost of the reciever, but thats only £50)

Breaking Sky encryption is near impossible - it changes very frequently, so if someone manages to get themselves in, they'll only get a few minutes of programming before it changes again!
