Not North West news, but 3 Stagecoach South West buses have been destroyed by fire at Paignton Bus Station.

Indeed, Volvo Olympians 16044, 16775 and solo 47106. Terrible shame.

Have seen pictures of the fire, there was literally nothing left of the 2 Olympians. Pics are on a local newspaper site I can't remember now

It's absolutely disgusting the lengths some individuals will stretch in destroying three buses.

Should catch the buggers that did it and set them on fire.
Was in worcestershire/warwickshire last week pics are on my flickr page.
Also 18330 is at carlisle for repaint.
After numerous breakdowns,the engine nearly falling out and spending more in the garage then on the road 16331 has been withdrawn due to back axle failure which ironically came out 16351 which went for scrap and new E400 10029 has been involved in an accident in london but unsure if its just a rumour.

10029 was indeed involved in an accident but from what I've read it's not serious.

14259 worked the late running 18.20 555 from Lancaster!
Passed 15723 at Crag Bank, at abt 1905 with Paul McGill driving.

or make them pay for replacement vehicles.

I bet it felt different to have such an oldie on the 555.

Good job it was terminating at Kendal & not Keswick!

14245 is now the oldest allocated vehicle with C&NL I believe....

I wouldn't say it was 'different' to have a Leyland on 555, more like a vast improvement! Would have been grand to have it all the way through to Keswick.

14245 and 14258 are the 2 oldest being F regs, I wonder if they will be spending much time on the extra 555s this summer, I havn't seen them on yet though

14258 is an H reg, and unlike the 2 F regs mentioned above, is on the disposal list.

I presume that they will only get onto the 555 if the fleet level is at breaking point with failures.

I suppose we wouldn't be talking about this if the Olympics weren't taking place.

The only one they have up there at the moment from Kendal I think is 20219, Theres still a few reserve b10s at Lilyhall, I wonder if they'll enter service anywhere in the near future

Kendal green machines 15722 and 17015 were in the yard and Ex hyde rd MANs 22134/7 have turned up at Morecambe reasons unknown.

16343 replaced 24123 which was towed in for the afternoon.

34079 has managed 20 mins service since the weekend. What a shed!

Yesterday we had 18357 on the 554 in the afternoon and 34714 on the 60. 20219 did the middle 554 trip.

Its about time that the 555 become half-hourly service through-out. As it is not unusual for the 555's to have full standing loads, when arriving and departing Lancaster.

Its funny because about 2 months ago a mate of mine who works for NBM predicted that might happen sooner rather than later! they'll probably put something nicer on the Penrith town service rather than a knackered solo and a J reg mercedes..

Kept that quiet! Once they get 17246 out they'll have a spare for 300 and a decker for 30/31! Assuming 17246 stays with LL that is.

34218 into service at Carlisle on service 38 this morning before going back to the depot for minor repair and then onto the 93 for the day.

34079 is now finished at Carlisle and is highly unlikely to make a return as it needs too much money spent on it. 34220 has just been repainted and would be an obvious replacement but I'm told it will not be replaced.

16640 is under paint prep while 18330 and 47136 are just about done.

16634 is here and looks about ready for the knackers yard!

76 branded 34713 on service 38 today.
