Hi all

I woke up this morning and heard on the radio alarm on the GWR news (thats the radio station, not the railway!) that there were cancellations yesterday due to 8 carridges being vandalised at Weymouth Depot (what the depot bit was about I dont know, might have been stabled at the platform) and the windows got smashed.

Anyone know what units were involved or anyhing Ive missed out?

cheers,
James.

8 carriages would be SWT 444s I'd presume...

2 units stable in p3, 1 stables in p2 overnight, there is Jersey sidings which they sometimes go into.

Well she did say it was First Great Western delays due to 8 carriages ...blah blah

Dont know why there was 8 carriages, Ive never known that much at Weymouth FGW wise, unless 2 4 car sets came down?

Unlikely 8 carriages or unlikely FGW?

It would be FGW as GWR doesnt report SWT trains apart from the Bristol - London services maybe.

I understood it was an FGW 150 (don't know which one) with 8 windows out. Apparently, this was not the first incident to befall FGW stock at Weymouth. The SWT stock stables overnight in more secure platforms with gated entrances IIRC.

Erm, all platforms are accessable with the same amount of "access"... they rarely shunt to the sidings.

Platform 1 (where FGW stable) is a public right of way, so must be kept open. We have indeed had a unit vandilised nearly every night recently
