Usually hauled by 66713.
Dad is a regular observer (well almost daily from his work window) and it changes loco every 3-4 weeks. More times than not it gets to Farnborough dead on time at 15:25, so you should be able to work out a rough estimate for Staines from that via Chertsey.

Weybridge
Ascot
Reading
Windsor & Eton Riverside
London Waterloo
Hounslow and London-London via richmond and Hounslow
Kingston
strawberry Hill ones
All of those being suburban services. Reading (the longest journey) is hardly a high-speed (i.e. above 50mph ;)) long distance service such as Weymouth or Exeter on the mainline.

Ah, but Reading already has a 125mph express link, namely the GWML, so its a purely suburban area around Staines to all of those places you mentioned.

As for 4Y19; the last two times I saw it it was 66713, so surely its due to change shortly?

Its 1 of the mainlines If it wasn't then it wouldn't have a main name and main line connections at byfleet and new haw

But staines is sections of quadruple tracks + 70 - 80mph running with occasional mainline services e.g woking , basingstoke only calling at Clapham Junction , staines , byfleet and new haw .... its 3/4 of 1 of the 5 main lines

Still suburban and the only time you get real express trains are when the lines around Wimbledon/New Malden are shut.

Well Waterloo - Basingstoke via New Malden is 100mph with quadruple tracks and some trains only stop once between it. These then continue all the way to Weymouth! Face it, Staines is a suburban backwater!

5 main lines?

Exeter - Waterloo - West of England Line
Weymouth - Waterloo - South West Main Line
Portsmouth - Waterloo - Portsmouth Direct

Enlighten me as to what the others are?!?

There are five main lines operated by SWT:

The South Western Main Line (SWML) to Southampton, Bournemouth and Weymouth;
The Portsmouth Direct Line via Guildford: leaves the main line at Woking;
The West of England Main Line to Exeter, Paignton, Plymouth, (and Penzance): leaves the main line at Basingstoke
Wessex Main Line (part): Southampton via Salisbury to Bristol Temple Meads
The Reading line via staines and to ascot via viginia water

The Reading line is not a mainline; there is a far easier way of getting to Reading/Windsor and probably Staines than going via Richmond!

The Wessex Main Line is hardly a main line, besides SWT operate about 3 services a day each way, not really a main service. Unless of course the WoE is being diverted via Southampton.

PS Don't quote me on this, but I think the SWT service to Paignton goes via Southampton and only traverses part of the WoE? At least one does anyway?

No, via Salisbury

There is a sunday service from Paignton/Plymouth that splits at Salisbury and one portion goes to Portsmouth

Staines is not important, both Reading & Windsor have easier means of access -

Paddington - Reading at high speed.
Paddington - Slough at high speed then jump on the shuttle for a few minutes in to Windsor & Eton Central.

I do like how you copied the first 4 from Wikipedia and then added the Reading line at the bottom, especially as their colloquial term are the Windsor lines.

Right, let's have a quick gander at services down the lines, trains per hour are taken from 11.00am to 11.59am.

The South Western Main Line (SWML) to Southampton, Bournemouth and Weymouth;
Services listed are trains that start at London Waterloo, and may or may not diverge from the mainline at some point of the journey, ie, Portsmouth line trains are included as they call at Woking. Services listed run on the fast line for some portion of their journey.

xx00 - Portsmouth Harbour
xx05 - Poole
xx09 - Portsmouth Harbour via Eastleigh
xx12 - Basingstoke
xx15 - Haslemere
xx20 - West of England line service (Salisbury, Exeter or beyond)
xx23 - Alton
xx30 - Portsmouth Harbour
xx35 - Weymouth
xx39 - Southampton Central
xx42 - Basingstoke
xx45 - Portsmouth Harbour
xx50 - West of England line service (Salisbury, Exeter or beyond)
xx53 - Alton
14tph - those are fast services only....

But, if you're being pedantic and want to list the slow line services as well:
xx03
xx06
xx09
xx12
xx16
xx20
xx24
xx27
xx33
xx36
xx39
xx42
xx46
xx50
xx54
xx57
16tph, so 30tph in total...

The Portsmouth Direct Line via Guildford: leaves the main line at Woking;
Times listed are ex-Waterloo
xx00 - Portsmouth Harbour
xx15 - Haslemere
xx30 - Portsmouth Harbour
xx45 - Portsmouth Harbour
4tph

The West of England Main Line to Exeter, Paignton, Plymouth, (and Penzance): leaves the main line at Basingstoke
Times listed are ex-Waterloo
xx20 & xx50, to Salisbury and beyond!
2tph

Wessex Main Line (part): Southampton via Salisbury to Bristol Temple Meads
South West Trains have 1 passenger service (towards Salisbury, cba to look for towards Southampton), 2140 Brighton - Salisbury. They have several more on Saturdays and Sundays.
1tpd

The Reading line via staines and to ascot via viginia water
The Reading line service just consists of what it says in Table 22 of the SWT big book of timetables...

xx07 - London Waterloo via Richmond
xx15 - London Waterloo via Hounslow
xx20 - Reading
xx22 - Weybridge via Virginia Water (advertised as Addlestone)
xx28 - Windsor & Eton Riverside
xx33 - London Waterloo via Kingston
xx37 - London Waterloo via Richmond
xx45 - London Waterloo via Hounslow
xx50 - Reading
xx52 - Weybridge via Virginia Water (advertised as Addlestone)
xx58 - Windsor & Eton Riverside
11tph - and not even long distance, not a mainline, more like outer suburban...
