Also forgotten was the fact this left no gangway, and in true FGW style they forgot to fit extra doors to the sides of each coach at each seating bay, therefore making capacity just 12 seated and a few standing in each vestibule

They will also attempt to meet Voyager timings, however, so far have been failing dismally!

Despite FGW shortening their HST sets to the shown 2+1 formation to attempt to meet Voyager timings, it has been proved that there are still less people standing in a single Mk.3 coach than in a 4/5 coach Voyager. FGW have announced that there are no plans to reintroduce First Class or Buffet coaches to their trains, therefore keeping the power to weight ratio to a minimum.

On the subject of FGW and their unit reshuffling, I came up with a simple idea last night that could up the power to weight (PtW) ratio by a factor of four without any loss of passenger space... :grin:

Apologies for the poor quality: I only had MS Paint and no internet access to hand, so it's not as good as some of the "stock" images elsewhere. Also, the GIF export routine in MS Paint is simply crap, too!

How did it affect your computer then? It is a 5,000 pixel wide image (As shown in the resolution bar.) which browsers will resize for, other than that it's a standard websafe GIF image and shouldn't cause any problems at all! :eek:

I'm running WinXP Pro on a clanky old 450Mhz PC (Nicknamed "Pacer") and Firefox, and I've had no troubl;e with it at all!

I run dodgy old ME (not for much longer) but i tried it twice and both times it did the old 'problem with explorer' thing and if I wanted to send it to Microsoft.

Due to the *Enormous* Length of the train it will be unable to call at Reading. First Great Western have told us "We have been listening to passengers and to copy the Virgin *Change Around* at Reading we have cut the train short to make it shorter for our driver to go to the reverse cab. Due to our drivers ENORMOUS weight amount we have also added and extra large capacity seat in the rear driving motor. Hopefully this will help us when the driver can't be bothered to complete his journey to London Paddington and turn back round to Bristol Temple Meads as his tea is ready! This is part of our £20B Makeover of our fleet "
