Would I be right in thinking that the Friday Week 2 mentioned here is Friday 2nd February; as I've seen reports of NMT out and about last Thursday/Friday which tie up with the Week 1 diagrams?

Also, will either 1C79 or 1A94 be going through Westbury at all; and does anyone have any detail timings?

Thank you very much,
John

The HST NMT is used on the lines where the faulty equipment isn't needed. It did the usual Derby-Heaton run Saturday just gone.

The OMT (i.e. loco hauled) is used on the lines where the faulty equipment is needed and hence the replacement coach (which was originally part of the NMT formation) is utilised...WCML and GWML judging by recent activities...

Excellent! So last question; will it be passing through Reading or Swindon on it's travels to/from Plymouth - Paddington?

In Derby RTC there is 3/4 NMTs with TnT 31s!

There is only one NMT...the HST.

The replacement NMT - nicknamed OMT (Old Measurement Train) by enthusiasts and staff - is loco hauled.

There then are a handful of different test trains, some loco hauled and some not.

Firstly the SGT (Structure Gauging Train) top and tailed usually by 31285 and 233 as they have had mods for this purpose. (Runs as 1Z06)

UTU2- loco hauled (usually 31s)
UTU3- the former Class 101 DMU 901001
UTU4- loco hauled (usually DRS 37s)
UTU5- road/rail vehicle thing.

And finally, Mentor is the OHL test vehicle and hauled by anything and everything that Serco drivers sign!

UTU3 is due to become loco hauled this year as the 101 powercars are not being fitted with OTMR.

Oh and BTW, the OMT is back to DRS 37s today...

Ok, I really do not mean to be a pest like a certain other user here, but I'm taking it as correct that 1C79/1A94 will run via Bristol & Swindon on its travels. Or is it kinda random?

The only time the NMT visits Bristol TM is where it comes in, has a layabout and leaves again on Week 2 Fridays on 1C00.

Thanks for your help guys; I think I might try to see it at Paddington, coming off 1A94 at 13:42, I know it'll be late because of the speed differences, I'll wait about an hour then give up. :)

If it is 37s it usually keeps to the HST times quite well
