On days like today, where one match is left in the balance by matters off the pitch and the other is left in the balance by matters on the pitch, you know there will be some massive results around, and in this case there were no results quite like gnolife's, whose perfect ten (making three in a row!) combined with his six bonus points for goals to send him top of the pile by no less than seven points. andrew bell still remains in the top two, with Temple Meads returning to the podium after a strong showing on the round's last day.

Unfortunately for one player, days like this always have a loser, and in this case it was Ivo. His daily total of one - out of a possible 32 - saw him plummet from the qualification places to second-bottom, leaving him ahead of only his traditional TPL rival bb21 who made up ground by again winning the six bonus points available for cards, leaving a gap of only two points between two of the favourites - at the wrong end of the table.

After a particularly dirty yet exciting round that produced no less than 34 cards (more than four per match) and 26 goals, it was Chapeltom joining Tim in scoring three points for cards, while SS4 completed a much improved round by bagging second place on the goals front, just ahead of atomicdanny, newbie babs and sonic2009.

Round Three looks very exciting as the battle hots up. Can anyone catch the Wythenshawe Wonder after his stunning showing of late in the race for Quarter-Final advantage - and can anyone spoil Andrew's chances at an already-deserved headstart in said round?

I think I shall have to change my stance on the following from "agree" to "utterly and wholeheartedly agree"

Maybe I should add something in the rules for the main game preventing people behaving this erraticly.

Having said that though, you still would have won three bonus points with the 23 your games resulted in - it's just that the one-point bonuses would also have three. Which also means I have to say "commiserations" to Sonic, whose miscount actually turned out to be correct hock:

Btw, don't go overboard, as it can get annoying. Some of them are just way too big.

A very low-scoring day after two somewhat unlikely 1-0 wins has resulted in minimal changes in the table, with three pairs of players swapping positions and no other changes occurring. Everyone (apart from Chapeltom obviously) scored at least one point for the Czechs' win, but only andrew bell (3) and atomicdanny (2) managed more than that, and only four players scored even one point for the Greeks' win. As a result, only Andrew managed more than two points today, and even he only managed three.

As far as the TPL goes the round will be better-remembered for its hideous card total of 14 - one of which was for Karagounis "diving" after clearly being tripped in the Russian penalty area...

I was out at time so didn't see it but what I heard from other people it was a dive as Karagounis was looking for it, remember Ashley Young against Aston Villa (I think) it was the exact same, only this time the referee wasn't conned into a penalty

Maybe, but the referee can't issue a yellow card unless he is absolutely certain that the player has been play-acting. There was clear contact and therefore, even if the referee does not believe it warrants a penalty, he cannot issue a yellow card for simulation.

The BBC Highlights reel (here; approximately two minutes in) certainly suggests the referee got it wrong.
