4061 has been out and about today. Just gone into the depot from Regent Centre Still got a bit of work to do as a panel from above the door was on the floor and some of the seats were folded over.

I wouldn't have thought so as 4061 is one of the refurbs.

Nah just on test. Was only running as a single car unit as well. Rear destination blind wasn't on either but the route number display was.

Yes, perfecly normal (although it does look strange to passengers). I did two test runs to Pelaw and back last year, due to rough riding on one car of a set. Don't see it too often but it happened during the day on that occasion.

The Airport line seems to be a favourite as you can get up to linespeed for a good stretch between stations past Bank Foot.

They are animals sometimes, i've never been on the new refurbished metro but from the picture on the designers website it's looking pretty tidy

Don't know about that, in the past few years there hasn't been as much vandalism as there used to be.

41 and 72 back out again today doing South Hylton - Airport duties. Next week sees the first night-time closures, between Benton and Monkseaton (which should mean a rare crossover is in use just before Benton).

Depends on where the start of the possession is I guess. When Regent Centre - Airport was closed last year, I'd assumed that trains would run into the siding and reverse into the normal South Hylton-bound platform, but instead they sat in platform 1 and used the crossover at the eastern end of the station.

For Benton they could use the crossover at the west end of the station, or as you say go into the siding and back out. South Gosforth to Benton is also shut on evenings in the next few weeks, but for this the train should run empty to the east of the station, over the crossover and reverse into the normal platform.

Been on 4041 (refurb) this afternoon where I told a chav to get his feet off the seats. There are no visible notices about feet on seats. The only notices are 1 inch paragraph on the notice stickers near the doors!! Why didn’t they just install the old seats? How thick are people to put their feet up on seats on public transport?? It makes my blood boil!!

Yeah it really annoys me too. Its not always Chavers too. At work I've given up telling people because all you get is abuse or looked at as if you are stupid. Same applies for tinny so called music played loud on their so called personal devices

Is the rail grinder still stabled at Pelaw? might try and get a snap tomorow. Aye, all that anti-social behaviour was seen this afternoon on a short hop from Gateshead Stadium to Monument. Bloody animals, chavvy knuckle dragging scum IMO!

I've lost count in the past month of how many 41/72 looked to be on South Shields workings today when I saw them go past at Pelaw.

They were on TRB125, replaced 4008/10 half way through the day as it would appear they developed a fault as I seen 4010 on its own just outside of the depot later in the day.

I wonder if 4046 is back yet? Seems like its the only refurbished metrocar which has not been seen/photographed yet. I also wonder when the next pairing will out on the system, it really is a slow old process it would seem!

Not sure if the rail grinder is still there, but it looked as if it had staff on board so I would have expected it to shift soon after I saw it (plus keeping stock at Pelaw overnight is never a good idea).

Was up Benton last night an indeed the empty train went into the sidings and back onto the normal Four Lane Ends bound platform, which is a shame. Not entirely sure why they couldn't just use that crossover instead.

The lowloader has to creep round the corner towards the road overbridge, reverse all the way down to the roundabout, and then go along towards the A19 - but the guys from Alleleys make it look very easy. I also doesn't help that cars are parked on some of the streets and not shifted...

Easier for the passenger I would suspect and saves Nexus having to put a sign up to direct people to the other platform.

Makes the walking route to the replacement bus slightly quicker, although the driver advised everyone to get off at Four Lane Ends. No staff at Benton either, so good job I knew where the stop was.

I was on the South Hylton line today but never seen the refurbished sets although that said, I could of missed them!

They say its a problem with the power supply and if trains are running again then I doubt it was a fire or a major one anyway. The closest thing to a fire is a fire alarm evacuation at Airport Metro Station which caused a few minor delays even though the metro facebook page said it was signalling problems, I suspect the FB page has been mis-led or something.

Seems quite a regular occurance these power supply problems on that part of the line, I wonder what the cause is?
