Any idea what the work was that required the closure of the York - Scarborough this weekend.
I saw some sign of activity around Haxby LC. Crossing removed but nothing else.
No manpower or other sign of life at 08.30. Sunday.

I think the work is between York and Malton, but I'm not sure what!

There appeared to be some preparation for track work at Strensall when I passed on Friday. Possibly replacing the trailing crossover?

I was just wondering if some planned renewal work had been cancelled due to the weather and someone forgot to cancel the road closure and crossing uplift.
Its been known to happen many times before.

As an aside does the ruling still apply about not tamping in lying snow due to risk of creating twist faults on thawing?
