hi

Having got this bve down and running, i thought it only best to use just the test sim that comes with it.
well after 3 hours i am still stuck in the same place "yawatajuku" station.
have restarted and replayed 7 times i still cannot get the train to leave the station.
no amount of trying and pressing every conceivable keyboard options will get the brakes off, even though it claims the brakes are released, accelerating brings no result though up to that point all was working well. there is an illuminated orange light on the display but cannot get rid of it.
all in all i looked forward immensely to this sim but after trying it out and stuck in a station every time i feel that its pointelss uploading any addons as the test version doesnt work.

anyone any ideas as to how to move a train when stuck in a station.

yes i have read every instruction in detail, there's not even a heading to do with "brake apply" i know i have searched and searched.
nothing whatsoever in the instructions to show how to get moving again, as i write its been stuck in station for 2 hours now and no amount of trying will shift it.

despondent here.

Try pressing 'F6' to close the doors..

Or, right click and go to options, and the 3rd tab along on the window that comes up, select 'Developer Mode'. This will give you full control of the doors.

following on .

Despite help, the demo train still will not leave the station, having closed the doors (tho there is no indication that this has happened) the sign "brake apply is still lit)
have tried for 6 hours now and no amount of key combinations help at all.

I have had contact, more like an avalanche from over 70 others and the gist is as follows. Dont touch it with a bargepole as it doesnt work, and if the demo dont work why go further wasting even more time. you will never leave that station and will always fail at that point. keep away, leave it. it dont work.

these were not my opinions though i am thinking they are right as there are tooo many of them to be wrong.

sadly if only the instructions even mentioned what to do about brake apply would be helpful or even how to leave the station it would help.

as for the future , well i am off to delete this non working program, and one which will never work or else someone would have told me by now wouldnt they, as no one has, i can only assume that this is indeed the case and its just a waste of time.

will then try to find a genuine train sim on the net, but not anything connected with this total piece of rubbish.

yours

Well I'm really sorry that you have had problems, makapa. In spite of others trying to help you, you still have teething troubles all of your own making. How many people have successfully downloaded and run BVE, and indeed have made vital contributions to this excellent sim? I suppose they must all be wrong, and of course you are right!

I will forgive you for your ignorance, but not for your offensive comments about BVE. This is the best simulator with the most helpful people ready to give of their free time and assist newcomers. Frankly, I for one will be glad to see the back of you. Goodbye and good riddance!

Regards,
Alan. <(

hi alan

I havent been offensive, but, as for your words that many people are ready and willing to offer help, well thats a blatant lie and as is evidenced from my first forum message, I received 2 replies, one was to shut the doors and one was to read the faqs. As if i had not already spent many hours reading all instructions however vague.
Not once and you know it as its there for all to see did any message try to tell me how to cure this problem or how to get the train to leave the station, I notice that even yourself failed to respond to my forum message.

I can only agree with all the other people who have had the same problem and no help.

I would be obliged if you could tell me where these helpful messages are kept, that pertain to the problem, I wont hold my breath for a sensible reply to that one, as we all know it wont be forthcoming, when help is promised remember the golden rule, nothing will come of it, and that is why you have lost so many many people to the site.
I will of course post this reply for others to see on all rail forums, perhaps they will tell me why your site is different.

Remember I only asked a simple question and got zilch in return, just about sums the site up doesnt it.

I repeat you are a liar in saying that lots of help is always available and is forthcoming, I have of course totally disproved your theory.

As a train driver of over 33 years and still a member of aslef to this day, I do have a knowledge of all things railway oriented.

yours and goodbye

Is that not the end of the route, if so you aren't meant to continue.
BVE won't automatically end the game for you, you need to manually quit when you've finished.

Oh I'm really impressed, a train driver for 33 years and a member of aslef to boot! Gee, that's nearly half as long as I was a member of TSSA!

As for taking it to personal level and calling me a liar, sorry, nice try, but that doesn't wash with me. My religion doesn't allow me to lie! I have all the proof I need over at the TSC forums; I personally have nothing to prove.

I am reporting your two out of three offensive posts to the Admin of these forums - I expect they too will be dismayed about your attitude. Kindly go elsewhere and find the sim that you want and don't waste your time insulting BVE and its members.

Admin note

@maka - if you have some problem with the software, post, and someone will help. Flaming, being offensive and downright rude will not get you anywhere - so desist, please.

Hello makapa,

The demo route, 'Uchibo', is only 13 minutes in length and contains just five stations in total, including the one you start at. It also lacks any real scenery, as it is just meant as a route for people to practice on and pick up the basics of how the the simulator works. As mbonwick said above, Yawatajuku is the final station on the route so as far as the demo route is concerned you effectively terminate there. If you are using BVE2 you can view the timetable by pressing the F4 button on your keyboard, or in BVE4 by pressing F3. If using the older BVE2, you will see that Yawatajuku is listed at the bottom of the timetable. I cannot remember if the BVE4 version does have a visible timetable associated with it as it has been a while since I last tried it!

I hope that is of some help to you.

and strangely you didnt offer any help, but then again you make lots of comments and have in the past, but you never ever offer any help.

I rest my case as they say.

thanks for the non help, no surprises their. You could at sometime try to help newbies instead of waiting to pounce with your lies as has been proved by your previous message, perhaps you really should try to read your own messages and delete the lies. So i presume i can report you for flaming me then, abiding by your own criteria, which has been , offer no help but just criticise and complain.
perhaps had you tried to help (which you are renowned for not doing) as proved with my problem, the matter could have easily been resolved, however for your own reasons you chose to refuse to help or assist. This has been done on other sim sites by yourself in the past, I remember.

must go now need to find some help, but of course as you do not offer any, i will look elsewhere.

Let us know please when you ever offered me any assistance and I will check it out.

If you havent offered any assistance during this trial version, then keep out of my life and go and annoy someone else, as you certainly havent offered me any help.

Am writing to the admin for them to check what level of help you have offered or have you just been critical and telling lies as shown in your first message.

enjoy
maka

it is only fare that i complain about you as you have seen fit to complain about me, without ever offering one iota of help.
Lets see if you can lie your way out of the evidence eh
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
cannot check my PMs as your rules forbid me from checking PMs.

nice one, you would think that a moderator would know that lol, no offence intended just a light hearted comment.

I would also like to complain about the intergference from a non helping member who has flamed me twicew, but i assume nothing will be done about him, "guillyman"

I await your reply by email as i cannot read PMs , your rules not mine.

yours
maka

This has gone far enough - just a general dig at people who have attempted to help you. The thread is very argumentative and all other posts offering help have been ignored.

The forum restricts members with less than 5 posts viewing PMs - it is all very easy to send a PM to someone who falls foul of this. When you have posted once more elsewhere in the forum (a nice post that isn't offensive to anyone) then you can read the PM sent above and the other I am about to send.

Please send any comments/complaints to a member of forum staff via e-mail or (when you have accrued 5 posts) via PM rather than posting them in public.
