I've checked prices for direct journeys between Tame Bridge Parkway and Leamington Spa, for some reason the 16-25 Railcard discount is not applied to First Advance tickets.

Anyone care to shed light on this? Just for comparison, they're correctly applied to First Advance tickets for journeys between Tame Bridge Parkway and Banbury.

Sounds peculiar. I know 16-25 railcards don't give a discount on normal first class fares, but thought they did on first class advance tickets.

They do (usually), hence the aforementioned oddity. For that journey you may as well buy the First Anytime Single (WSMR-only like the First Advance Single) for a quid more if you don't want to go to Banbury.

Incidentally, the missing discount appears to affect any direct WSMR journey between Leamington Spa and stations north thereof. Not only that, but as far as stations from Cosford northwards are concerned (Ruabon excepted), the First Advance Singles are more expensive than the WSMR-only (and even some Any Permitted) First Anytime Singles!

In fact, some are also more expensive than First Anytime Returns!
