Why don't we have a Radio Beacon with the Cab Stop sign instructing Trains immediately adjacent the beacon that the computer that the person in the closest cab can only open doors on that side?

There is. It is called Correct Side Door enable (CSDE). Standard equipment on many new trains.

The article about the SWT (now SWR) routewide Automatic SDO system in Rail Engineer mag explained that the data bit pattern in the track beacons already includes a slot for CSDE, although it isn’t used as yet:

Good thought, but may need some refinement, for the various different platform heights on the network, and those that have empty space under the platform, such as Shotton:

Heard about a guard who opened the wrong side doors at a certain station.
They promptly closed them, opened the right side.
Although there was no accident, the guard didn't report anything.
Station staff reported it.
Guard is now going through investigation.

I can think of only one station (Euston) where you might do that by accident as a guard (with a step-out policy you'd notice the lack of a platform elsewhere). Platform 17 I'm guessing.

Pretty much all Electrostars have it, so far as I know, although it doesn't apply to all the locations at which they call.

Additionally, some trains also prevent a door release where it's detected that the train is not at a station at all.
