Just what has gone wrong with the National Rail Website as it keeps crashing - unless used when most people are asleep? I am using an i-mac with Mohave operating system and Safari web browser.

What do you mean by 'crashing' are you getting an error from the site or is your browser unresponsive?

What happens if you use a different web browser eg FireFox?

Very noticeable that the "Oh no! There's a problem" page results when entering journey enquiries at peak hours, such as Friday afternoons or during times of disruption.

Then this message started displaying every time I entered an enquiry in the journey planner. Deleting nationalrail.co.uk cookies fixed that.

(Using Firefox on Windows 10 and MacOS)

Also what information do you want from NRE?

If you just want journey planning, you could try www.fastjp.com. Alternatively if you want fares as well as journey planning, you may as well go to any booking website (as NRE won't sell fares anyway).

fastjp is always flagged up as a rogue site by my corporate McAffee infested laptop.

Ask National Rail on which platform they are running their website.

I often get the same issue, to the extent that I now try to avoid using the site!
Whilst yes, clearing your cookies (or using incognito mode in your browser) solves the issue, it ends up happening again at some point for me so I have just given up on it.
