Where have you been by bus?

I've never even seen a Trolleybus, never mind used one. Not including running on tarmac instead of rails, do they feel any different to trams?

Ivo, You when you are next in East Anglia, you should come to the East Anglia Transport Museum near Carlton Colville, they have Buses, Trolleybuses, Trams and Trains.

Pretty simple, really. Just like this thread, only specific to buses! (Buses must be operating a normal PSV route to count, but merely passing through without getting off is OK as are "local" routes usually operated by coaches e.g. Service X5.)

I will restrict my answers to England's 50 largest settlements only, partly to prevent listing too much but also because my only locations outside of England are Newport, Cardiff, Swansea, Belfast, and, uh, Wexford (:?).

I've ridden trolleybuses in several post-Soviet cities: Odessa (most often), and also (I think) Kyiv, Moscow & St Petersburg. The really striking thing about the vehicles used - and which did make the experience of travelling on them quite different from using trams - was how incredibly lightweight (almost: seemingly weightless) they were: and so incredibly quiet.

One of the ex-Selwyns Cadets now on the Wirral with Arriva was used more than once on the National Express 060 Shuttle. Kept time, too!

Selwyns never got penalised for using it, as the actual shuttle vehicle, more than once was commandeered to cover for services which should have been run by Express Travel/Amberline (Speke) and Pete Moores Coaches (Holmes Chapel)whose vehicles kept falling apart.

Who done megabus in a normal bus?

In the early days of Megabus of course the main buses were Hong Kong Leyland Olympians, although these were coach seated. However they also regularly substituted Dennis Tridents from Leyton depot. I travelled from Manchester to London and from Bristol to London on such vehicles.

More recently, I used an Enviro 400 from East Midlands Parkway to Halifax on Megabusplus.
