A south Manchester parkway station is vital. Removing the Airport station would be a very bad idea. Stockport is presently massively busy with this traffic from wealthy south Manchester and north Cheshire.
The London trains would still go through Wilmslow. Lengthen the platforms and the trains can call there

Wilmslow station car park is tiny and the town centre roads are congested. It is definitely not a parkway substitute for the proposed HS2 station at Davenport Green, which would have had direct access to the M56. And road access to the existing Airport station is actively discouraged to reduce congestion. You have to trek to/from one of the Airport terminals for pickup/dropoff or a taxi rank, and dropoff charges are levied. It would be completely unsuitable as a NPR parkway.
