What's going on in Reading?

Those who live in or have recently visited Reading, I have a question for ye. Whilst changing there earlier (on an annoying +29 change; due in at xx:43 and the previous connection is xx:42), I had a look around the station area, and boy, had it changed! Roadworks everywhere, and buses seemingly diverted. What is happening there? Something about a two-way system?

Aren't they closing one of the roads around the station as part of the station rebuilding?
