What happened to the National Express new double deckers?

Not daring to move away from Caetano is surely hurting National Express. The Elite i's and Astromegas that Megabus operate look far more premium than a Levante, and indeed the Boa Vista. Surely it can't be a good sign when your "budget" rival is operating better vehicles than you are?

The Elite i's are based on the Volvo B11RT chassis and they absolutely fly along, so I'm not sure why National Express would be having issues with them in their single deck coaches?

Saw a couple of the Caetano doubl deckers yesterday(8th May) operating the 040, was surprised to see them back as thought they were gone for good.
