What do we think the East West Rail rolling stock will be?

They aren't the big brother as they don't have anything in common with the 230s except the fact that they got converted from existing trains. The 769s are still 319s in every way except the diesel engine, still the 2+3 seating (although this could be changed), no air con etc. The delivery times have also been pretty bad as they current ones aren't in service yet.

I don't know about "avoid disappointment"
I'd be pretty disappointed to see a brand new railway line opened with 35-year-old EMUs with a mild refresh and diesel engines bolted on
