Website to find out bus fares?

I'm not a bus-man at all. I rarely travel on them, but when I do, I'd like to be able to find out fares in advance like what we can do on pretty much any TOC's site for journeys on the railway.

For example, if I wanted to travel on a bus from Lanark Bus Station to Leadhills Main Road, Traveline tells me it's the Stuarts Coaches no. 30, but I'd like to know how much that journey would cost before traveling. Anyone know of any websites that could help me out?

Only ever seen a couple of companies do it. Unlike National Rail who must publish their fares, bus companies don't. Best way is to call the company directly.

I've never been able to find any fares information online, except for the cost of area day tickets like in Greater Manchester or dediocated websites like the bus from Leeds and York to Whitby. Singles and day return fares seem to be mostly impossible to find.

Seems to be similar for travelling by Ferry. Fares are availaboe on the CalMac site, but they don't give an option for travelling by foot.

many ferry companys dont accept foot passengers no more, as due to lack of foot passengers bookings they cant charge competitive rates for foot passengers, to allow foot passengers to embark/ disembark costs a cross channel ferry company approximately an extra £1000 per crossing, and most crossings only take around 10-15 foot passengers a crossing who'd need to be charged between them this £1000 to cover port charges, some ports authorities charge even higher than the £1000 per docking!!

Foot passenger fares are available on Cal Mac's site; listed as Driver/Passenger.

RichW: Where did you get this from? Me and the missus have traveleld as foot passnegers on a large number of ferries from Wales or England in the past few years.

Compnies include P&O Ferries, Stena, Brittany Ferries, Irish Ferries and DFDS Seaways, and all have been quite happy to have foot passnegers!
