If it involves channelling more money to dodgy American tech bro's, I'll be avoiding it.

Waymo, the US driverless taxi company, have announced today they intend to launch operations in London next year.

Let's be honest, they couldn't be any worse than existing taxies with drivers. If the utopia ever happens, it will be interesting to see how they cope with bikes in bus lanes. Some drivers seem to think that if they beep their horn I will move out of their way. Guess what? I don't.

The least appealing part of many a taxi/rideshare trip is often the driver and their obligation and their worldview onto you.

Well when Elon's robo-taxis are around they can probably give you a live feed of grok's opinion on immigrants.

I believe Uber has an option for something like, "Quiet preferred", so you can avoid that. Possibly one of the few good things I have to say about Uber!
