There is another shut down of the West Anglia Main Line north of Broxbourne this weekend and whilst trying to plan a journey I've noticed a rather strange quirk in the amended timetable. Normally on a Saturday, Enfield Lock would see 3 trains an hour in each direction - 2 x Liv St to Hertford E and 1 x Stratford to B Stortford. It's understandable that there is a reduction to 2 trains an hour during these engineering works, however it appears that Brimsdown is seeing 4 trains an hour which is twice as many as usual. Is this an error in the timetable or is there a reason that Brimsdown gets twice as many trains an hour during these works while most other stations see a reduction in services?

I noticed this too, and I'd also like to find out why! (Must be great for the locals of Brimsdown who normally only see 2tph.)
What I find strange is that recently in the past or so weeks there have weekend engineering works along the Tottenham Hale to Stratford line that resulted in Northumberland Park and Meridian Water being served by Hertford East services. What would normally happen on a Saturday is that 1tph would call at: NP, Ponders End, Brimsdown, Enfield Lock, Waltham Cross, Cheshunt etc. Then another would serve Meridian Water, then all the other stations listed above.
However on Sundays what happened was one tph would call at both NP and Meridian Water, then would run non - stop to Enfield Lock (Skipping both Ponders End and Brimsdown), then Waltham Cross, Cheshunt and so on.
This meant that Ponders End and Brimsdown only saw 1tph each. I was on the line on that day and it lead to lots of overcrowding at both stops. Why was this? Was there any reason why the Saturday Stopping pattern couldn't have been used?
