regarding passengers unable to get out of Walsall Station. In the photo this is in daylight so it is not the usual delayed last train arriving to a locked station.

They eventually lifted a fence panel to get out after finding doors 'locked'. According to the article, WMR said that doors were closed but not locked. Why would doors be closed if the station was unstaffed? There is a comment below the article adamant that all exits were locked. Both can't be right!

Not far off - last one from Birmingham International arrived 17:46, last one from Wolverhampton arrived 18:26.

In all seriousness, sounds like a major H and S issue if passengers need to tear apart fencing to leave.
