Wait for Mobitix or book now?

I am trying to book a trip for a Manchester to Euston return in May but notice that mobitix tickets are only available to book up to 30th April.

Should I wait and see if they allocate tickets for May or just book it now to risk the equivalent value advance ticket going up even more?
I read somewhere they have to be released up to three weeks in advance so does that mean if any are going to sold it will be before Thursday 9th?

Look at what they are selling on Mobitix now, and if you like the look of the timings and prices on offer, then it may make sense to hope that the same time trains are opened up for the same price in May and wait.

But if you look at Mobitix now and they are selling tickets for trains at times you don't want to travel then I'd leave it.

If you have a railcard that would tip the balance in favour of normal AP too.

Hi all

It's now April 30th and the Mobitix website still states that you can only order tickets until April 30th. I'm desperate to get tickets for May 13th. Any idea when they'll appear?

The Mobitix promotion trial has ended for Virgin Trains services although they do claim to be working on an improved version to bring back.

Mobitix tickets can however still be purchased for other TOCs who are participating in the scheme.

Wrexham & Shropshire, Chiltern Railways and National Express East Coast, all also run mobile ticketing schemes.

Virgin are also still offering Megatrain tickets for Birmingham to London and also some stations on their Voyager operated routes north of Birmingham.

Strange claim from VT on their website "following a succesful trial, we are now working on improving the Mobitix platform"

Given that other TOC's have extended their ticket quota and numerous complaints about tickets not downloading properly, incompatible phones etc, was it really succesfull?
I was also waiting for a ticket to become available in May

Whats the current progress on Trainline Smart, I can only find articles on the Internet from last year, is that going to launch and provide cheap rail fares?
