Obviously Oyster is valid on London Overground between Euston and Watford Junction, but is it also valid on London Midland? If it is, does the fact that a particular service may or may not call at Harrow & Wealdstone make any difference to the validity.
Virgin don't accept either Oyster or (otherwise valid) One-Day TravelCards for travel between Euston and Watford Junction. I am not sure about London Midland's policy since it is a limited stop service in the London area.

Oyster is valid on London Midland and Southern services to Watford as indicated on the London Connections map and as mentioned specifically (including special arrangements for peak fares) here.
Oyster, Travelcards etc are not valid Euston-Watford on Virgin as no ticket is valid on their trains for that journey- all services from London are Uplift only at Watford, all services to London are set-down only. Not sure about Watford itself, buit this sort of arrnagement (and the resulting ticket validity) dates back to BR days.

Oyster PAYG can be used on services with a first stop of Watford.

Holders of season tickets including Zone 1 need to buy either a paper ticket extension or add PAYG credit + OEP.

Indeed, although this type of arangement is long-lasting, it used to be possible to spilt-ticket at Watford and use TfL passes on all trains Watford- Euston (one of the reasons you'll find a lot of TfL workers living in Watford).
