Can anyone tell me which Virgin Cross Country carriage would be the unreserved one? i'm travelling today on the 10.25 from Coventry to Bournemouth with two small children and it would be good to get seats together, pref a table!

We've done it before and always booked seats but we didn't this time and we've been given random seats spread apart, which is not feasible with the kids.

thanks

Coach B, however this is only available on 5 coach sets

Apparently it is 5-car 221140, so coach B, which should be second from the front, should be fully un reserved. (If the formation on trust is correct- it could well be the opposite way around)

(Had it been a 4-car class 220 Voyager, there wouldn't be a fully unreserved carriage)

Just to point out Cross Country is run by Arriva- Virgin haven't run it since 2007.

Brilliant, thanks. Ha, didn't know about Arriva! I shall look at the train closely today xx

Quite simply, the train will be heaving. Get the children to practice their scrum skills or be prepared to stand at least to Leamington. The hourly service is insanely busy, given Leamington is not exactly a small town.

It'll get better when Kenilworth is complete sometime around 2049.
