Can someone clarify, is the Ulsterbus depot at Stranraer a full depot, or an outstation?

The only bus depot i know of in Stranraer is run by Stagecoach West.
Doubt Ulsterbus would keep anymore than a couple of buses in Scotland.
They have one leaving Edinburgh at about 5am each morning going to Stranraer via Glasgow.
Other than daytrips and tours starting and finishing in N.I. there would,nt be much need for them.
National Express do the London run from Stranraer for them.

Ulsterbus have a couple of vehicles based in Stranraer (fully liveried, licensed and registered to them in Belfast, according to their running boards) but I believe they're driven in and out of Stranraer by Stagecoach West and National Express drivers. You will see the full Ulsterbus livery on Birmingham and London runs. IIRC they're Irizar bodies.

As per this page, it seems that one departure per day travels via Larne and then presumably Cairnryan or Troon.

PS...

The only bus depot i know of in Stranraer is run by Stagecoach West.

These photos are four years old, but seem to show a fully functioning depot with an Ulsterbus sign on it. Who actually owns / maintains / operates any National Express, Citylink, Eurolines or Ulsterbus vehicle always confuses me
