Bit more fun with Claude Code this morning

It'll show the fastest end-to-end services stopping at your station, or across the whole network. Ranked by either crow-flies or route mile distance. It'll also show slowest/fastest route, or fastest/slowest legs (all ranked by fastest service). It also lets you filter operator.

Interesting to see the distances of the train journeys in miles. Does this use the Data wharf product on rail data marketplace?

It's using NR's datafeeds - openraildata etc - distances between TIPLOCs. Due to rounding, it's not always 100% accurate when summed across a long route. That data is in miles and chains.

Didn't think there was any open data with mileages in it, I know the passenger consists has some form of mileage. Then again I haven't really looked hard.

I'm guessing the reason Brighton to Seaford (17 miles) is showing 23mph is because of the 10 minute wait at Lewes. Its a lot faster than that and it gets up to 70 after fAlmer

I think there might be something in the fares datasets for this. There's also the network links data which is part of BPLAN, available on RDM from either OpenTrainTimes or Network Rail.
Yes, that's part of how this constructs it. The code is open source, feel free to just grab or get Claude to write again.
