TVM not respecting off-peak restriction suspension

According to BRFares and NRE BX off-peak ticket restrictions do not apply to Derby-Nottingham fares between December 22 and January 1.

So why are the TVMs Derby station trying to tell me I can’t come back 15:30 and 18:15 today (December 24)?

I overlooked, software on machine not capable of distinguishing by date, someone not bothered to load the easements, or yet another scam designed to make the unwitting public pay more than they might need to?

Never ascribe to malice that which can be adequately explained by incompetence.

It's probable they just "didn't think of that" and never updated the TVM software (no doubt partially because of some snobbish assumption that everyone uses e-tickets anyway). Reprehensible, but not a conspiracy so much as laziness.

Because the TVMs in question are only displaying the main text associated with the validity code, not the seasonal variations.

Whether that's down to the supplier or them not being present in the fares feed I can't say.

It's neither. Generally these popup messages get dictated by the station operator with some help from the data feeds.

According to brfares.com the restriction does not apply until 2nd January now. I do not see any problem with the date bands.

This just looks like a poor TVM interface.

Oops, sorry that's me being thick, I just found a random fare, and put BX into the "lookup by restriction code" box, which seemingly only shows the text and doesn't pop up the relevant unpublished data.
