Travel Express - Let’s Go

I notice that from this weekend Travel Express also known as Let’s Go will cease to operate with it’s contracted services moving to Diamond Bus. Apparently the owners operating Discs have been revoked by the Traffic Commissioner.

Interestingly, the operator had recently advertised for an additional Transport Manager on Route One, probably as a last gasp attempt to get something in place to avoid revocation.

Travel Express Ltd is looking to recruit a Transport Manager to be based at its operation in Wolverhampton.
The responsibilities are listed below:

1. Driver admin – Checking licence and CPC card making sure they up to date.
2. Driver management – Checking driver working hours and full compliance to current legislation is adhered to.
3. Driver Operational and vehicle checks – Making sure drivers’ hand in a defect sheet at the end of the day and cross checking them against PMI sheet.
4. Vehicle administration- Ensuring vehicles have their mot completed on time, they display operators’ disc to comply with driver working hour requirements.
5. Vehicle Management – vehicles are kept in fit and roadworthy condition.
6. Licence Admin – keeping the licencing authority informed of all matters regarding the company licence.

The company currently runs 13 Buses and has 5 spare vehicles to be utilised if needed.
This will be part time external Transport manager role requiring 20 hours per week or 4 hours per day.
Pay is negotiable upon experience.

I am pretty sure Travel Express have had their licence revoked before. Then after a few years they started up again under the new Lets Go name. So this is not even the first time they have had their licence revoked.

Thanks @Bungle965 - I asked for the thread to be re-opened because I live along the #1 route in Wolverhampton and I see that the Travel Express buses are still racing along the route, still up to their old tricks leapfrogging the NX buses, still looking like they could fall apart at any moment... does anyone know how/why they're still running?

They appealed the decision at last minute and as a result, they are permitted to continue operating until such time that the appeal is heard. I don't believe a date has been heard for the appeal but someone else may be able to jump in on that.
